After 4+ months inpatient at Seattle Children's Hospital, we finally have a discharge date...December 2nd. The date comes with mixed feelings...sadness to leave our amazing caregivers with whom we've bonded through all of the ups and downs, excitement to go home and resume our "new normal", fear that we might not be up for the challenge of being full-time caregivers for a medically complex kiddo, and relief that we'll be home in time for our daughter to be born. Our time here has been amazing and we've had some of the kindest, careful, and intelligent caregivers we've ever experienced. They successfully brought Harrison back from the brink of death and he has recovered some of his abilities that were initially lost after his spinal injury. It'll be a long, hard road ahead but we're confident that we have the team, training, and hard-headedness needed to thrive. We're going to maintain this site as a way to better communicate what's going on with Harrison and what we're dealing with as a family.

Harrison, so glad that you are home! Miss seeing your sweet smiles! Big hugs!!
